Ein Morgen könnte besser beginnen, als gleich lesen zu müssen, dass der großartige Autor Robert Anton Wilson ernsthafte Probleme mit seinem Leben und dem guten alten Geld hat. Der Tag musste ja irgendwann kommen, aber trotzdem ist man geschockt, wenn es denn kommt.

Robert is dying at his home from post polio syndrome. He has enough money for next months rent and after that, will be unable to pay. He cannot walk, has a hard time talking and swallowing, is extremely frail and needs full time care that is being provided by several friends-fans-volunteers and family. We appeal to you to help financially for the next few months to let him die at his home in peace.
Zur Erinnerung und an alle, die mit diesem Namen nichts anfangen können. Robert Anton Wilson ist jener Autor der fantastischen Illuminatus!-Trilogie (mehr), den drei Teilen von Cosmic Trigger (1, 2, 3), dessen zweiter gerade erst vor kurzem in deutscher Version auf den Markt kam, der Trilogie um Schrödingers Katze (mehr) und vielen weiteren Büchern über Quantenmechanik, Konspirationstheorien, Philosophie, Diskordianismus, Drogen und Sex. Er ist ein alter Freund des bereits verstorbenen Tim Learys und hat sich ebenso aus Spaß als Kandidat zur Präsidentsschaftswahl aufstellen lassen. Man kann ihn getrost neben James Joyce, Aldous Huxley, William S. Burroughs, der gesamten Hipster-Szene und Aleister Crowley einordnen, denn er ist ein Schreiber, dessen Werke das eigene Denken wirklich komplett umkrempeln konnten. Er eröffnete nicht nur neue Sichtweisen, sondern versuchte in erster Linie den Leuten das Sehen an sich beizubringen.
